COVID19 Policies

NEW POLICIES:

Masks / Face Coverings are Required Upon Entering Our Building

Clients and therapists are required to wear a mask the entire time you are in the office. This includes during your treatment. 
This is an Executive Order from The Governor's office.


You may choose to wear the one you must wear to the office or, once you arrive in the office, you may choose to use a 3 Layer Sterile Surgical Mask. A new one will be supplied to you for each treatment session. These will prove to be more comfortable and are safer than a cloth mask. 

These 3 layer Surgical masks are EUA Approved and have a filtration rate of over 95%. These masks are packed in a sterile environment and offer a level of protection over the normal 3 layer masks. Each mask is made up of:

1.) An outer hydrophobic non-woven layer which protects the wearer from liquid splashes and bodily fluids including blood

2.) A middle melt-blown layer which acts as a 2-way filter and is critical in stopping viruses, bacteria, particles, and other germs from entering/exiting the mask.

3.) An inner soft absorbent non-woven layer which is intended to absorb water, sweat, and spit.

 


How to Book an Appointment: 

Please call or text the office at 401-848-9825.

You must call in advance to request an appointment. Please leave a voicemail message if there is no answer.

Time has been extended between all appointments to avoid cross-traffic and prolonged contact with other clients and therapists in common areas and to allow for extensive cleaning of the office. Due to these new protocols, appointments will be limited. 

Day-of may are typically unavailable. Walk-In Appointments are never available.


COVID-19 Symptom Checks:

All clients will be asked a questionnaire regarding COVID19 symptoms, over the phone, three times:

1) When you call to book your appointment.

2) 2-days prior to your appointment date via email. YOU MUST RESPOND TO this within 24 hours or you may call/text the office answering the questions.
 

If I do not hear from you, I will call but if there is no response at this time, your appointment
maybe canceled and offered to someone on my waiting list. 

 

3) Same-Day Text check-in with your therapist checking in with the same questions.


Massage Therapist Health Check: 

I will also be monitoring my own health and symptoms by taking my own temperature upon coming to the office, answering the same questions you do, and creating a record of that.

If my temperature reading is of 100.4 degrees or higher or displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, I will not be able to provide treatments or be in the office. Appointments will be rescheduled if this occurs.

I will be getting screened regularly for Covid.

At this point, I have received the required two vaccinations against Covid19

 
Treatment Consent: 
Scheduling for At-Risk Clients: 

If you are over the age of 65 and/or have significant health issues that limit your ability to fight off illness, we ask that you postpone scheduling an appointment until this historical time has passed. Special circumstances will be considered. 

My promise to you regarding your safety. I will be following ALL CDC guidelines for protective care outside of the office. At home, we are taking as many precautions as possible. Limiting our exposure, having one other family member doing all the shopping, wearing masks when in the company of others, and maintaining appropriate social distancing. 

I ask that my clients be taking the same precautions for their health as well as mine. Due to the close physical and prolonged nature of this work, your own individual health, the health of other Body-Wise Clients, and our own families, please consider postponing bodywork at Body-Wise when you have not participated in this type of lifestyle.

These guidelines will be reviewed when both therapist and client have received vaccinations and waited the appropriate time for them to take full effect. 

 

Treatment Changes:

Facial massage and facial reflexology techniques below the nose will not be executed at this time. Precaution will be taken when performing techniques that involve any application directly below the chin. 


Cancellation Policy:

We request the courtesy of 24 HOURS notice of your cancellation.

Please call or text 401-848-9825 ~ at least 24 hours before your appointment to notify of your cancellation.

'No Show/ No Call'  appointments will be charged the full amount of your scheduled treatment price.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, there is no penalty if need to cancel on day of, but please still notify us as soon as possible so we can make the appropriate adjustments. d

 
Late Arrivals:

Late arrivals will not receive time extensions (due to the increased sanitation time of the treatment room) and will still be responsible for the full payment of your treatment.

 
Visitors:

Friends and family of the client are not allowed to wait in the reception/lobby area while the client receives a massage ~ unless previously discussed. Alternative areas may be available. 

 
Water and Tea:

We will no longer be offering water or tea before or after treatments.

Please bring your own water bottle. -- Hydration is important before and after your treatment.


EMAIL Notifications: are now a mandatory part of our notification policies.

Once your appointment is scheduled, an email will be sent to you with a link to our updated policies and procedures.

Your confirmation email will be sent to you 48 hours before your appointment.

COMING TO THE OFFICE:

1) Before you Enter the Office: 

Clients are asked to arrive no more than 10-minutes before their scheduled appointment time.

Please wait in your parked vehicle until 10 minutes before your session.

Upon entering the office building, Clients are asked to sanitize their hands with the wall sanitizer provided just inside the main door.  

Clients are required to wear a mask upon entering the office and must stay on for the entire visit. 


2) Greeting

We are avoiding practices such as handshaking or hugging. A simple wave, hello, is just fine!

 

 
Before your treatment begins:

Once inside, clients will first wash/sanitize their hands and then enter the sanitized treatment room.

If you are a new client, please bring in your completed form. 

 

Preparing for Your Massage:

There is a plastic container for you to place all your belongings in while changing. Please leave all unnecessary items secured in your car and bring in only those that you need. 

During your treatment:

Casual conversations will be limited.

Wearing the mask makes it difficult to talk for long periods of time without getting very warm and the CDC advises decreased talking to lessen the number of particles in the air.

Always communicate about the pressure to your therapist and any needs you may have during the treatment.


After your treatment:

Clients are asked to sanitize their hands at the door before exiting the building.

 
Treatment Etiquette:

I am committed to a professional and safe environment.

I will not tolerate any inappropriate language as it relates to these new policies. 

If behaviors are deemed inappropriate or policies are not adhered to, the treatment will be ended immediately and you will be responsible for the full payment.

 

NEW PAYMENT POLICIES:

I accept Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. 

You can also pre-pay with a Series Discount. Series Discounts have been changed since March 2020. 

There will be no traditional July rate increase this year. I will be keeping rates as established until Dec 2020 at which time I will assess and adjust as necessary. 

Gratuities are not included in any treatment price and may be given at your discretion. (Please see payment methods below)


How to pay with a Credit / Debit Card:

Credit Cards are accepted at the office using a minimal touch-system now.

How to Pay with Cash:

Please, Prepare ahead of time to bring the exact amount you plan to pay in cash.

At this time, there will NOT be any exchange of cash to make change.

If you plan to pay cash, an envelope will be available for you at the desk.


How to Pay with a Check:

Please have your check written out before coming into the office for your appointment.

If you plan to pay by check, an envelope will be available for you at the desk.
 

SANITARY PROTOCOLS:

Main Common Office Spaces. High touch surfaces are being disinfected two times a day. All bathrooms are being cleaned thoroughly twice a day. 

Body-Wise Treatment Room:
All high-touch surfaces between clients will be thoroughly wiped down with an EPA-registered disinfectant.
These include door handles, counters, tabletops, pens, or pencils used to complete paperwork, clipboards, desks, light switches, and any touch screen.

Hand sanitizer, facial tissues, and hands-free trash receptacles are available throughout the office.  

Air purifiers with HEPA filters have been added for air circulation. 

Plastic face cradles, table covers, and pillow covers will be used under the sheets and other cloth coverings during the treatment and thoroughly wiped down with the EPA-registered disinfectant. 

Clean linens for each client will be stored in a separate container. Soiled items will be stored separately.

All vacuuming will be done when there are no clients in the office with a HEPA air filter running.

Consent for Treatment

 By scheduling an appointment with Body-Wise, you understand that, because massage therapy work involves maintained touch and close physical proximity over an extended period of time, there may be an elevated risk of disease transmission, including COVID-19. You acknowledge that you are aware of the risks involved from receiving treatment at this time and voluntarily agree to assume those risks.

You will be asked to sign this waiver upon your first visit to the office.
